  • Not sure if I'm mad because Lestat and Louis didn't even once have cazy vampire sex or if im glad I haven't seen Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise kissing, I think that would genuenly leave me traumatized. I love this movie, it's not great but it is a must watch for goths and vampire lovers. I think they did butcher Anne Rice's vision of the story, especially with Louis' and Lestat's relationship: in the book they are very obviously lovers and in the movie it's like heavily implied but never explicitly mentioned, which I get because it was released in 1994. imagine what kind of reaction a movie about two gay vampires would produce, not good I imagine.

I'm so obsessed with Lestat's character, tom cruise did an amazing job in this role, also holy hell that was Tom Cruise?? No way, I can't believe Tom Cruise looked THAT good (no hate Tom).

The cinematography was gorgeous, I love it so much and how much it actually brings a special charm to the story and ofc makes it just such a deligt to watch.

Rating: 6.5/10 It's not the best I admit but it has it's charms! They did totally butcher the story lol but it's fine I don't blame them. Still i go back to this movie for it's aesthetic and a sense of nostalgia.

  • Before I even start here's an important disclaimer: the movie has blackface also take this as you will but for (un)known reasons they named an Arab princess "Yumyum" (no comment). That is just an aknowledgment lets not ignore that.

Other than that the animation is heavenly, its smooth and so overdetailed, its eyecatching and just overall mezmerizing to watch. Also to note how catchy the soundrack (link here) is!

I shit you not I watched this movie 5 times in 3 days and I'm gonna watch it again. I can't tell if this is due to the fact that I currently have no true fixations so my brain is taking anything to obssesively pick at and disect. It's such a fun little movie although I'm not sure if I should call it little considering it was in the making from 1964. to 1995. (31 years) with often breaks tho, and yet then still wasn't finished. Do not watch the Miramax version or really any other versions than this. the Miramax version is the worst tho for sure. It has these unnecessary singing scenes like your average Disney movie and gosh do I hate this trope it's so boring I think thats the reason I love the recobbled cut so much - it has no boring "love song" scenes I'm just tired of that. But even more I hate the "princess whos tired of her royal life" trope... You are literally sickly rich what do you mean you're unappy??? Enough about that lets talk about the characters.

I've seen a lot of people complain about how 2D the characters are on a mental level. I don't think thats necessarilly a bad thing I mean this is a kids movie, the characters don't have to always be complex IMO. Even tho theyre all very cookie cutter stereotypical main characters they are lovable. Especially Tack you guys were not there during the Tack craze on TikTok, I however was in the trenches. I do love Tack I can't deny, he's so cutie patootie literally he is such a guy I can't explain this he is soooo :3!!! (I am three wrong moves away from calling him a smol bean, help me) Also hello girlboss duo Tack and Yumyum?? (both of them are girlbosses yes)

the review is not yet finished sry lol
